The Toolkit
Each tool earns its place by doing a different job. Picking the format is a design decision, not a habit.
Articulate Rise
Responsive, interactive modules — the workhorse format for structured content with built-in interactions, scenarios, and checks that work on any device.
Powtoon
Animated video for concepts that land better as a story than as text — processes, narratives, and ideas that need a human voice and a visual thread.
7taps
Microlearning: short, focused bursts that fit into a workday and work well for reinforcement — the right size for a single concept, reminder, or update.
Kahoot
Game-based quizzes that make knowledge checks social and energetic — friendly competition that surfaces what a group actually remembers.
The Engagement Approach
- Interaction over exposure: modules ask learners to respond, choose, and practice — not just scroll. Every interaction is a small retrieval event, and retrieval is what makes learning stick.
- Multimedia with a reason: video, animation, and visuals are used where they carry the content better than text would — richness in service of the objective, not decoration.
- Right size, right format: a full module, a three-minute microlearning burst, and a live quiz are different tools for different moments; matching format to purpose is most of engagement.
- Built for completion: pacing, length, and variety are design variables — a module people finish beats a longer one they abandon.
AI-Personalized Content
AI tools are part of the build process: I use them to personalize learning content for the audience in front of it — adjusting examples, emphasis, and depth to what a given group needs — while keeping the content aligned with regulatory requirements. Personalization raises relevance, and relevance is what makes a busy R&D professional give a module their full attention. In a regulated environment, that personalization always stays inside the lines the requirements draw.
